September 12th saw the announcement that Skype and eBay will be offering the latest products in VoIP. It is said that eBay may buy Skype. This includes its VoIP mobile products and is a part of its plan to boost sales with seamless voice communication for eBay consumers.

The Skype EBay VoIP mobile purchase will be paid for with $1.3 billion cash and an equal amount of EBay stock. The Skype-eBay VoIP mobile merger will bring in another $1.5 million for Skype if the VoIP mobile firm meets stipulated revenue goals by the end of 2008.

This Skype EBay VoIP mobile acquisition is planned to take place by the end of this year. It will be eBay's largest purchase till now. Other big eBay acquisitions prior to this Skype EBay VoIP mobile move were the 2002 purchase of PayPal and all its online payments services and this last year's purchase of shopping.com. The latter cost eBay $620 million.

Skype VoIP mobile services was first set up in Luxembourg in 2002. The Skype EBay VoIP mobile services gives consumers free voice from one computer to another by way of Internet Protocol (hence the name VoIP). Voice connections from computers to either landlines or cellular phones will be charged comparatively low for connectivity.

Skype's VoIP mobile, even before its integration with EBay, has been considered one of the VoIP leaders across the 225 countries and territories with which it does business. The current annual income of $60 million is predicted to jump to over $200 million with this Skype Ebay VoIP mobile collaboration.

Skype VoIP mobile, before the EBay purchase, was not primarily in North America. In fact, almost fifty percent of its revenue came from European countries, around twenty five percent of the revenue was generated in Asia and just one eighth of it came from other North American countries. This new Skype EBay VoIP mobile company will start out with a whopping 54 million subscribers, and is projected to raise that number by 150,000 each and every day thereafter. Each firm, both Skype and EBay bring together new customers in this VoIP mobile buy.

Investors have researched and decided that only a tiny number of Skype or EBay subscribers - one percent - are currently using both for their VoIP mobile or auction sales or buy services.

The executives at EBay think this Skype EBay VoIP mobile product will be a natural evolution from their current retail efforts. With Skype, EBay and Paypal, consumers are given retail sales coupled with VoIP mobile to communication seamlessly, inexpensively and effortlessly about the buys and the sales, and e-commerce to finalize all transactions.

When the Skype EBay VoIP mobile deal is complete, eBay hopes to integrate it into its e-commerce platform. That way Skype eBay customers can use VoIP mobile to talk to each other. The most likely scenario for this Skype EBay VoIP mobile program is charging sellers on the basis of a pay per call program or by a flat fee. With the pay per call every time a buyer used the Skype EBay VoIP mobile system to call a seller the seller will have to pay eBay a set price. However, with the flat fee arrangement the fee will give the seller a link to the contact information from the Web page of the advertised item.
